Frequently Asked Questions

Questions and answers regarding installation, processes, and integrations

A journal system is an integrated platform that enables the digital execution of article submission, peer review, editorial management, publishing and archiving processes. The entire publication process is managed in a transparent, traceable and standards-compliant manner.

After registering on the system, authors complete their submissions by adding the title, abstract, keywords and files to the system via the manuscript upload screen. The system ensures the process is initiated correctly by receiving all required files for submission.

Following the editor's preliminary assessment, the article is assigned to suitable reviewers. Reviewers complete the assessment form and upload their reports via the system. The process can be structured according to a single-blind, double-blind or open peer review model.

The system supports different publication policies such as traditional publishing or continuous publishing. DOI assignment, ORCID integration and licence management (Creative Commons, etc.) can be implemented.

Authors and editors can view the status of the article (pre-review, peer review process, revision, acceptance, etc.) instantly via the panel. All transaction history is recorded. All important stages are automatically notified to stakeholders via email.

The journal system is compatible with DOI, ORCID, Crossref, OAI-PMH, and metadata standards. This facilitates national and international indexing processes. It works fully compatible with data collectors. For journals indexed in TRDizin, the system generates an XML report with a single click, automatically transferring all articles from published issues.

Yes. All articles are archived within the system and made available for access along with bibliographic information such as issue, volume, and year. Content can be easily accessed through search and filtering features.

The system has a role-based authorisation infrastructure. Access and processing authorisations can be defined according to the roles of editor, reviewer and author. Users can access all different roles through the same account with a single account.

The system offers themes compatible with academic publishing from its theme pool. The journal logo, colour palette, page structure and content modules can be customised. If desired, custom development requests can provide design options tailored to your corporate identity (additional fees apply).

Technical support requests regarding the system can be submitted via the panel or by email. With its user-friendly design and over a decade of field experience, the system requires minimal technical support.

If you have a current DOI membership, the system will generate an automatic DOI XML that you can use here. If you do not have a DOI membership, the software offers you the option to purchase DOI on a per-item basis. You can purchase DOI for your past and new issues. Purchasing DOI on a per-item basis does not require a membership fee; you only pay for the DOI you purchase.
